Celebrating the life of
David A. McCutchen, Jr.
June 19, 1945 - September 24, 2022
David McCutchen Jr, 77, passed away on September 24, 2022 in the presence of and comforted by his loving children and sister. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart still shines as bright as the lighthouse at Tybee Island where he was born, raised a family, and served as Chief of Police just like his father. He also served his community as a city council member.
He married his high school sweetheart Kilma Barfield and had four children.
He loved simple pleasures like chatting with his many friends over coffee and fishing the creeks of Tybee.
He later married Roxann Stone and retired to Midway Ga where he remained until his death.
He is proceeded in death by his parents David and Emily McCutchen and son Danny McCutchen.
Survived by wife, Roxann Stone; sister, Betty Upchurch ( Grant); sons, David McCutchen (Alison) and Michael McCutchen; daughter, Megan McCarthy (John); step-son, Daniel Dudeck; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association.
