Celebrating the life of

Clifford (Frank) Schuman, Jr.

November 08, 1970 - September 05, 2022

Clifford (Frank) Schuman, Jr.

Clifford “Frank” Schuman Jr., 51, passed away on Monday September 5, 2022. Frank was born in Savannah, GA on November 8, 1970, to parents Frank Sr. and Linda (Carpenter).  Frank is a lifelong Tybee resident and was proud of his local roots. Locals called him the ambassador of Tybee and he was Tybee Strong. Frank loved to cook and made a lifelong career in culinary arts. He was the former Executive Chef of the Savannah Country Club and the current Executive Chef of the Flying Fish restaurant on Wilmington Island.

On August 16, 2014, Frank married Lindsay (Farlow) and they have 2 beautiful children, Abigail and Ethan. In addition to his wife Lindsay, Frank leaves behind his daughters Emily Schuman, Abigail Schuman, and son Ethan Schuman, his mother Linda Carpenter Moore (Darrel), and his special cat Woody Woodrow. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sr. known as the Unofficial Mayor of Little Tybee.

Frank was a true waterman who loved everything to do with the ocean. He was proud to be a local and part of the Tybee community. Frank prided himself on loving and knowing a large variety of music. His favorite band was REM. Many nights you could find him playing the guitar with his friends. Frank never met a stranger and loved building new friendships. He was easy to talk to, easy to laugh with, and once you met him, he would always welcome you with a smile and open arms. He loved his friends and his family and was so proud of his wife and children.

Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, also believe in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14: 1-3

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Frank was a wonderful friend and I feel very thankful to have know him. I have fond memories of him playing tapes of his Native Indian family, while trying to learn the language. We moved before he married and had more children, but whenever I saw him he always proudly filled me in on Emily with a big smile on his face. I know he valued his wife, children, mother and friends so deeply and I am truly sorry for each of you. May you have comfort in knowing you will be reunited one day.
