Celebrating the life of

Cynthia Suellen Wilson Luther

September 23, 1944 - August 27, 2022

Cynthia Suellen Wilson Luther

Cynthia Suellen Wilson Luther, 77, of Manning, SC passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, after a short illness. Cynthia was born September 23, 1944 in Savannah, GA to the late James Corde Wilson and Susie Pearl Dyches. She was a 1962 graduate of Savannah High School.

Cynthia meant the world to so many people. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Cynthia never met a stranger; her pure joy of life was infectious, and her laughter was contagious. She was the life of the party that would bring a smile to everyone’s face as she lit up the room when she entered. Cynthia loved nature and enjoyed gardening. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, especially Austin Riley. Cynthia happily attended her last Braves game on August 18, 2022, where she cheered from just behind home plate.

In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Luther; and brothers, Frank and Ernie Wilson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Bryan Lanier and Ashley Hodges; a daughter, Suzanne Hicks (Kenneth); brother, James Wilson (Barbie); sister, Pam Barrow; grandchildren, Victoria, Larry, Jacob, Abbiella, and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kaidan, Adalyn, and Oaklan; and several nieces, nephews, and friends that will dearly miss her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.

Pam. I am so sorry. Thank you for making your family in our 40 some years of being friend my family Cynthia renamed Vivian (never could figure that one out) but it stuck. There's not a time that we got together that wasn't filled with laughter. Picking up pecans up at the farm. Sitting on the ground, making circles. Our favorite pass time...SHOPPING showing up a man or two how to move and pack a truck. I loved you much ♥️ more than I thought..you're always Pam sister, but I got to share and I'm so grateful. She loved her kids and grandkids Never forget that! Pam and Jimmy. I read somewhere..your heart never heals. You just learn to live with the lost. I'm praying that you will find all your memories give you a lot of laughs and find some calm and peace. Love always...Jonsey

So grateful for the time I had with this wonderful lady. She absolutely made her mark on this Earth. Proud to have known her and proud to be part of her family. I’ll think of her every time I pick apples, attend music festivals in town and gaze across the mountains (her heaven she called it). Ma Cynthia was definitely a one of a kind and she will be missed. Big hugs to Suzanne, Ashley, Tori, Pam and so many more that are feeling the loss of such a wonderful person. Love you so much Ms. Cynthia and will always carry your memories in my heart.
