Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. I, donna, have such wonderful memories of times spent with Don here in Knoxville where he first showed an interest in restoring Victorian homes. Savannah was definitely the place for him to follow his dreams and meet the love of his life and build a wonderful family. I wonder if he will now begin creating those beautiful mansions in heaven that Jesus said He would be preparing for us. We are so sorry for your loss. Don will surely be missed by many.

Laura, we were shocked and saddened by the news of Don’s death. As we have shared this sad news with our neighbors from the old days they too are shocked and saddened but quickly have a story about Don and his unique personality. He was a fun guy, a good neighbor, a great friend and a fellow pioneer in Fourth &Gill. Our love and sympathy, prayers and best wishes for you and the kids at this time.

Dear Laura & children, Alan & I were so saddened by the passing of Don. He was so instrumental in helping me & my children start over after my divorce. Alan & I will celebrate our 28th anniversary in November. I don’t know what we would have done without him. He was a generous, kind & very creative man & I know you & your family will always be proud of that. Our deepest condolences, we have so many happy memories from living on Luttrell. If you ever want to reach out, my cell number is : 865-567-9287. I could share stories that will make you smile!

My condolences and love to the Reinke family during your time of sadness! Don was always a great fellow. I knew him from the Christian Leather Company days in Knoxville and his home renovation days in 4th & Gill neighborhood. You and your family are in my prayers!

- Jim Cortese, Knoxville, TN

Some people are so special to you that it takes time to say how you feel and to really accept they have departed. Don always talked so well of my step-dad who absolutely meant the world to me so I immediately had a strong connection with Don as a young man. As both having airline pilots as a parent and an obsessive love for business and teaching we shared some things unique in common from the beginning. He loved God, family, son, daughter, and his friends more than anything else, followed closely by hard fulfilling work, cooking, and fishing. Thank you for everything Don, it is never goodbye just see you on the other side my special friend.
