So sorry for your loss. Although I have no memory of the event my father John Dean told me many times when he and my family were down in Clewiston, Fl, Mrs. Dixie saved my life by pulling me out of the hotel pool while I was drowning. I was 3 years old.

My sincere condolences in the passing of Dixie. She was such a beautiful and kind woman. My family shared many fond times with her many years ago, enjoying the many stories she and my mom shared growing up in "Sugar Hill." Those friendships lasted a lifetime. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my beloved cousin and childhood next-door neighbor. Dixie and I grew up together at the sugar refinery, and she was my maid of honor when I married in 1948. I always enjoyed and admired her independent spirit and outgoing personality. I miss her and remember her with love.
