Celebrating the life of

Cam Ly Dang

Passed away on July 31, 2022

Cam Ly Dang

Cam Ly Dang (1939 – 2022)

On July 31, 2022, Mrs. Cam Ly Dang passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 83 years old.  Born on 1939 in Xuan Ninh, Mong Cai, Vietnam.  In 1975, she fled Vietnam with her husband and seven children to an unfamiliar country, not knowing the language, culture, and people.  Through her faith and strength, she was a successful business owner while raising her children and servicing her church and community.

She cared deeply for her family and community. She was always the first to offer help. She was selfless and gave her time generously through her service and volunteer.  She regularly brought meals and necessities to new immigrants and those in need. She was well-loved among her family, friends, and community. She was very ground in her faith as a beloved member of Saint Peter & Paul Parish at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.  Mrs. Dang had an unwavering faith in God, and her faith only grew stronger in her final years of life.

Her favorite part of the year was when all her children and grandchildren gather around for all events.  These gatherings have always been the highlight of her life.

Mrs. Dang was loved by so many. Her positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever she went. She never met a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend; she always went out of her way to help anyone in need and had an incredible work ethic that will forever be remembered.

Always an independent, strong, active, resourceful, and beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Mrs. Dang’s beautiful smile and laughter lit up our souls.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother dedicated to her family and is survived by six children, Tien (Thuy), Tam, Su (Anh), Tran (Chase), Nghien, Duke (Tram) and fourteen grandchildren, Vanly, Chanly, Trang, My Thanh, Joseph (Vicky), Thuy Vy, Thuy Linh, Ngoc Linh, Andrew, Amanda, James Jr, Alex, Victor and Amelia.  She was predeceased by her husband, Son and son, Hung (widow Huong).

Family and friends are invited to join in Mrs. Dang’s memorial service on August 6, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saint Peter & Paul Parish at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 3115 East Victory Drive, Savannah, GA 31404. Follow by burial at the Catholic Cemetery, 1720 Wheaton Street, Savannah, GA 31404.

2 Corinthians 1:3-

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any [a]trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
