Janis Forster Rice

Janis Forster Rice, 70, died peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Memorial University Medical Center.

Janis was a native of Birmingham, AL and lived in Savannah for the past 12 years. She was the daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth Greagan Forster. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was employed by Waffle House the past 15 years. 

Janis’s passion was horses. As a teenager, Janis was a talented equestrian and achieved Olympic level horseback riding.  

Surviving is a daughter, Elizabeth Rice of Savannah; sister, Betsy Graf of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. 

Janis enjoyed spending time with her family, and they will miss her dearly. Her great-grandson, R. Damian Scott was the apple of her and brought Janice great joy.

No formal service is being planned.
