Celebrating the life of

Michael Earl Weatherly, Jr.

April 07, 1978 - July 24, 2022

Michael Earl Weatherly, Jr.

In the early morning hours of July 24, 2022, Michael Earl Weatherly Jr. passed away at his mothers residence.

Michael was the middle child of Michael Earl Weatherly and Marian Darlene Thomas. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada but raised in Savannah.

Michael was very active in sports. Growing up he was quarterback for the Tybee Dolphins football team and was crowned homecoming king. Soccer soon became Mike’s passion. In his teen years you would always see him with a soccer ball and bouncing a hacky sack off the side of his foot; skillfully done to the beat of a Jimmy Buffet or Tom Petty song. He was a self taught carpenter and could build anything. He even worked locally on the show Extreme Makeover and helped build the little girls Cinderella bed. If he could dream it, he would build it.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Michael Earl Weatherly; maternal grandparents, Marion Edward (Hazel Martin) Thomas; and paternal grandparents, Isaac Walter (Nell Grant) Weatherly.

Survivors include his wife,  Melissa Smoak Weatherly; three stepchildren,  Bradley Knight (Amanda), Tanner Knight and Parker Knight; mother and stepfather, Marian Darlene and Walter Blanton; sister, Tiffany Weatherly Bonino (Kevin); brother, Derrick Weatherly (Rita); cousins, Courtney Coe (Pam) and Jacquelynn Coe Horne (Daniel); and several nieces and nephews…..

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Memorial Service to immediately follow.at 6:30 p.m.
