Jennifer Dufrain Farris, 49, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 after a brief illness.

Jenny was born in Anchorage, Alaska to Jim and Pam Dufrain.  At the age of 2 the family moved back home to Illinois and when Jenny was twelve moved to Savannah.

Jenny attended St. James Catholic School; St. Vincent’s Academy and graduated from Armstrong Atlantic University with an education degree.

She spent her entire career at Memorial Day School starting in the after-school program and in 1997, she accepted a position teaching in fourth and fifth grade.  After many years in the classroom, she moved into administration and became Head of School in 2018.

In addition to her parents, Jenny is survived by her daughter, Anna and son, Jackson; sister, Rebecca Railey (Chuck); niece, Emma; brother, Mark (Jami); grandmother, Theresa Dufrain; mother-in-law, Carolyn Braden; sister-in-law, Meagan Vickery; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church.

Internment will take place at a later date.

Jennifer and I met at Kmart where we worked together while going to college. I will never forget the laughs and the fun times we shared. I remember her trying to teach me To drive her 5 speed red turbo sprint on the backroads in Georgetown!! Eventually with time, busy lives, and families we saw each other less and less.
