Annie Michell Rodriguez, an avid reader and amazing writer, 24; transcended peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Annie was commonly referred to as “Michell” or “Michi (Mii-Chii)”, Born in Hinesville, GA, Michi attended school in Bulloch County until transferring to the Bryan County system. Not only was Michi an "A" student, but she was a kind soul and known for her humorous personality.
To cherish her memory, Michi leaves behind her devoted mother, Ana Segura; father, Miguel Rodriguez; siblings, Mariana, Alejandro, and Daniel Rodriguez; grandparents, Alberto & Elia Rodriguez Hernandez, and Rogelio & Josefina Segura Angeles; and her loving extended family that will miss her dearly.
Michi loved to help others and enjoyed volunteering at church. At the early age of 11, Michi was translating for her peers, She was a very talented musician, playing the piano and bassoon. Michi was fluent in Spanish, English, and withour formal training she could understand Latin. Michi passed her passion for music to her younger brothers, inspiring them to continue the legacy. Her teachers enjoyed having meaningful conversations with her, and they always regarded Michi as a high achiever. She consistently earned Honor Roll and Principal List awards.Michi won numerous essay, public speaking, and spelling bee contests. She was a Beta Club member since elementary school and was always active in a variety of school programs. Michi played soccer and tennis for the local recreational departments.
Michi loved to challenge herself; writing was the thing she was most passionate about. She had a deep love for fiction novels such as Twilight, Harry Potter, and Aragon.
Twelve years ago, our dear Michi suffered a life-changing side effect from a vaccine that would turn her world upside down. She became disabled, but Michi never allowed her disability to define her. With a smile and great determination, Michi carried on fulfilling her purpose in life. We as a family had to adapt, grow and learn to the horrible truth of the side effects. In the beginning we cried; later we were filled with anger; but we soon realized it was a miracle in disguise. Michi became our quiet loving teacher, so full of love. In turn we learned forgiveness, patience, acceptance, but most importantly to care for one self, staying present in the moment, and to live life seeing the good in everyone and everything. Michi taught us lessons that will last for an eternity, and we know she will be taking these with her as she surpasses into her next life time.
A Celebration of Michi's life will be held on at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral homr for one hour prior to the service. To honor Michi's spirtuality, innoncence, and angelic spirit, the family suggest those in attendance to please wear white or light-colored clothing.
I will never forget the first time I saw Michi when I came to the states from Mexico, she was so little and I remember her pulling my shirt and asking me who I was with that big smile she always had. Or her joke that will always make me mad because I won’t understand them. She will be missed, but her memory will be on my heart forever!
