Joseph Lawrence Wittkamp
Passed away on May 24, 2022
Joseph Lawrence Wittkamp, 73, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The native Savannahian was a graduate of Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served as a Ranger in the United States Army. He was also a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his sister, Catherine Wittkamp Young of Savannah; niece, Amanda Young, two nephews, Trey Young and Matthew Young all of Savanah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Luther E. Wittkamp and nephew, Andrew W. Young.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
