As soon as I met Gertie, I knew she was special indeed. My cousin is Nancy Johnson Keaton. I first met Gertie when I was 15 or 16. While we enjoyed many good times back then, I so enjoyed the past several years when my husband and I would vacation on Tybee with our family. One of my favorite highlights would be when my cuz would tell me that Gertie was stopping by to say hi…. I so enjoyed our time together. We are sincerely sorry for your loss. To the Harris and Beytagh families. My heart goes out to you all over this sad sad occasion. I honestly didn't see a lot of Gertie during our "raising kids" years , but I have no doubt that she kept every bit of the spunk and wit and zest for life that she had back in the day. That was her being and that is how I will always remember her, with a smile.
