Celebrating the life of

Mark Hampton Snow

September 21, 1957 - April 24, 2022

Mark Hampton Snow

Mark Hampton Snow, 64, passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2022 in his cherished city of Savannah, Georgia of which he called home for over 30 years.

Mark was born in Albany, Georgia on September 21st,1957 to the late Dorothy Belle Snow & James Hampton Snow. He is preceded in death by his sweet sister whom he loved dearly, Pamela Mallo. Mark was a proud graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology where he was led to a career in mechanical engineering.

A cherished father, spouse, son, brother & friend to many all over the world, Mark was widely known for his infectious grin, intelligence, vigor & resilience that carried him throughout his life. When family & friends think of him, they often think of the kind & sweet man who always had a way of making the best of every situation, despite the obstacles he faced.

Mark appreciated the finer things in life: delicious food, cooking wonderful meals, beautiful flowers, the sweet smell of the Savannah marsh that brought him a sense of harmony during good & difficult times, as well as deep connection with his loved ones.

As this chapter of his life closes, he will be greatly missed by his love, Melissa.

He is survived by his daughters Haley [Andy O’Reilly – who are expecting his two twin granddaughters this year] Lauren Oxner & grandson Gabe, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Many thanks to Dr. Paul Bradley who Mark considered a dear friend & as well as his primary physician who was always available to him for advice or a listening ear.

A special thanks to the medical community around the Savannah area who helped Mark navigate the trials & successes of his health journey over the years.

Mark was very involved in the mission & purpose of Mercy Flight Southeast who provides a means of transportation for patients & their families to & from medical appointments. The pilots who volunteered their time, knowledge & transport made a positive impact on Mark that is everlasting. He loved getting to know the pilots & made many friends along the way. Mercy Flight Southeast made all the trips a beautiful adventure even when the destination was not always home. They got him to his next destination safely & with a smile on his face.

To Mark’s dear friends & family: always remember him with a smile.

“The soul takes flight to the world that is invisible but there arriving he is sure of bliss and forever dwells in paradise.” – Plato

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family asks that donations be made in his honor to Mercy Flight Southeast & Hospice Savannah, Inc.:
