Celebrating the life of

John Wesley Malone

October 17, 1941 - April 08, 2022

John Wesley Malone

Mr. John W. Malone, age 80 passed away at home in Savannah, GA on April 8, 2022.  John was born in Benton, Arkansas to the late Archie Harris and Annie Sanders Malone.

He served two tours in the U.S. Army.  He was a guitar player and singer in a band in his younger years.

He retired after 30 years with the Corp of Engineers working on the Atlantic and Gulf coast. He began on the Corp dredge “Henry Bacon” then became Master of the Corp drill barge, finishing his career there as Quality Assurance Inspector. He then worked at EMC Engineering as a boat captain. He also worked for Hudgins Ice.

He was a long term resident of Tybee Island until he met the love of his life, Jannelle Brown in 2016 with their marriage  in 2019.  John was excited to gain a family with six daughters.

They enjoyed many trips traveling out west in their RV to include Mexico, the Golden Gate Bridge, Redwood Forest with John proudly sporting his cowboy hat.  They even had a cruise to Cuba.

Also proceeded in death by his son, David Malone

Survived include his wife Jannelle; sons Archie Malone, Eric and Jeffery Evans, and Odell Ward (Shelma); daughters:  Lynne Lane, Brenda Stuckey Mikell (JD), Debra Berry (Tom), Melissa Wilder (Al), Kathlene Stapleton (Don), Ruby Johnson, Terri Sheahan (Joe), and Denise Hatcher; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers Jimmie Harris Malone (Judy), Archie Eugene Malone (Laverne) and William Sherman Malone (Faye); best friend Pete Smith of Bluffton, SC.
 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the chapel at Fox and Weeks, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Jackie McCullough officiating.
