Jean Plaster Harris

Jean Plaster Harris passed away peacefully on April 2, 2022 at Oceanside Rehab on Tybee Island. 

Born on January 27, 1942 in Fieldale, VA, she was the daughter of the Thomas A. Plaster and Julia Stowe Plaster, and sister to the late Thomas A. Plaster, Jr. and Joseph Plaster. She had one surviving brother, Wayne Plaster. She was married to the late William R. Harris for 33 years and they have 2 surviving daughters, BJ Harris Collett (Jimmy) of Tybee Island and Regina Harris Kaminski (John) of Greer, SC. She has 4 surviving grandchildren, Matthew Collett (Taryn), Wesley Collett (Ashley), Haley Kaminski (Matt), Nicole Kaminski, and 2 great grandchildren Amila Collett and Wilder Collett.

She lived in Savannah for over 40 years and had a very successful career as the owner of Abstract Services where she was a title abstractor and real estate appraiser.  She was one of the first women in Savannah to become a Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA) in the Savannah area. She was a faithful member of the Church of God and loved giving and attending church activities. 

She never met a stranger. She was generous and loving to every person she met. Christmas was her favorite time of year and spreading Christmas joy to everyone she could. She loved God, her work and most of all her family with all her heart. 

Family is asking that if attending service please wear a bit of red. It was her favorite color and color for heart disease.

In lieu of flowers, family is asking for donation to: East Main Street Church of God, 402 East Main St., P.O. Box 1180, Statesboro, GA 30458 or Bloomingdale Fellowship, 1501 US-80, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 24, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Jeannie was always wanting to be of help to everyone around.She loved giving showers for everyone. Jeannie wanted to give every person she knew a Christmas gift. She could light up the world with her smile. Jeannie was a very loving, caring and giving lady. If someone was in need of a job, Jeannie made sure she either hired them or found them a job.
