Celebrating the life of

Dolores East Aliffi "DE"

Passed away on April 02, 2022

Dolores East Aliffi

Dolores East Aliffi “DE”, 93, of Savannah, GA, and widow of Joe Aliffi, died Saturday, April 2nd 2022 at Hospice Savannah with her family by her side.

A life well lived, a wonderful Mother, Granny, and friend!  She was born in St. Augustine, FL, and moved to Savannah at age 2 where she spent most of her life.

She was a daughter of the late Leona and Milton East.  She graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy in May, 1947, and married Joe in December.  They shared 65 years of marriage.  She was the best Mom, beautiful inside and out!

De loved reading, dancing, music, crocheting and puzzles.  Her greatest joy was her children, grand and great grandchildren.  She was heartbroken by the loss of her sons Michael and Kerry, and the loss of her granddaughter Christina, grandson Jerry, and great granddaughter Hannah.

De was a devout Catholic with unwavering faith who loved attending daily mass.  It was a love she shared with her dear friends!  She often said how much she cherished her friends and could not imagine life without them.  The family thanks each of you for your continued love and support.  It meant the world to her and to us!

She will be sadly missed by her children Peggy, Patrick, Dennis (Sandra), Tim (Pam), Angela (Vernon), and Mary Ann (Tim), her grandchildren, her sister Barbara (Bob) Zack, extended family and friends!

She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia and brother Sonny.

We would like to thank the many loving caretakers who treated Mom like family.

And a thank you to the Hospice nurses, volunteers and staff for their loving care in her final days.

We will receive family and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel on Hwy 80 with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at St. Mary’s Chapel at the Catholic Diocese of Savannah on Victory Dr.

Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.

GUEST BOOK

With eternity in our hearts we are assured that soon De will return in the resurrection. She lived with God’s promises in her heart knowing that when Jesus calls she will answer.Job 14:14 Being a Christian, De, could face the future with a happy heart. She was aware that people were intended to live forever and Jesus sacrifice has made this possible. Her prayer is for God’s will to be done in heaven, as well as, on earth. Since the meek will inherit the earth, we look forward to Christ’s Kingdom government transforming the earth to paradise. Isaiah 9:6,7 , Psalms 37:10,11 Please be comforted as we all want to welcome De in paradise. JW.org “Enjoy Life Forever” Warm Christian Love and Prayers, Sandy Wirfs

A candle has been lit!

Dear Peggy, Patrick, Dennis, Tim, Angela, and Mary Ann, so sorry that your Mom couldn't be with you longer but happy she's no longer suffering. She was truly a great lady, so loving, friendly and tolerate. I enjoyed spending time at your house, playing cribbage with your Dad and enjoying vegetable soup which your Mom taught me to make. And enjoyed visiting them at their river home where De seemed truly happy and relaxed. You were blessed with a loving mother and she was blessed with loving children. I love you all XOXO, Aunt Freddi
