Celebrating the life of
Brandon Scott Schvarcz
September 09, 1990 - March 17, 2022
With deepest sorrow, we announce that Brandon Scott Schvarcz, age 31, beloved son, nephew, cousin, and friend, died unexpectedly at the hands of another, in the early morning hours of March 17, 2022. We are left shocked and saddened at the loss of such a beautiful soul.
Those who knew Brandon, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Brandon was the heartbeat of any room he walked into. You couldn’t help but smile or laugh when you were in the presence of Brandon. His energy was contagious.
Brandon had such passion for life. He loved boating, fishing, being a devoted, fun-loving, and compassionate son and friend to many. Most of all, Brandon loved being a Daddy to his fur baby, Nyla.
Brandon loved his job and the people he worked with. He was a stationary engineer at the Central Energy Plant on Hunter Army Airfield. He always had a smile on his face and was genuinely happy to do his job and be with his co-workers, who say, they will greatly miss his kindness and thoughtfulness. One co-worker shared, “I wish we could have 10 of Brandon.”
Brandon will be missed everyday by his father, Scott Schvarcz of Savannah, GA; his stepfather, Daniel Perry of Vermont; his mother Lori Gushlaw (Cecil) of Sandy Creek, NY; half-brothers, Travis Hough, Colin Gushlaw, and Cody Gushlaw; his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many great friends. He will also be greatly missed by his furry companion and best friend, Nyla, who is still waiting for him to walk through the door.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and grandfather, Phyllis and Miklos Schvarcz, and his maternal grandmother, Pauline Pitkin. We know that he is loved in heaven as much as he was loved here, on earth.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Brandon’s life at 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Brandon had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others, and had such a bright future. The world is a lesser place without him.
My heart goes out to his family. Brandon was like a brother to me and son to my dad. He will be greatly missed! Rest In Peace grasshopper.

Scott, there are no words that can ever be said to mend your forever broken heart. I am so beyond blessed to have not only known B, but to call him a bestfriend. There was never a day that passed that we didn’t talk. He was there when I needed a friend the most and he made sure to express his love in the best way he could…with making you laugh. There was nothing in this world that I wouldn’t do for him. Now that he has gone to a place we can only ever dream of going one day, please know there is nothing I wouldn’t do for you as well. He loved his dad and made sure to let the world know that as well. Brandons life in 31 years, touched MANY! Please know I will always be only a phone call, text, or a short drive away no matter the time of day or night. Thank you for raising such an amazing person inside and out. I have memories to last a lifetime and when you are ready, I will be more than happy to share them with you. B will forever be in my heart and thought of every day. Look for him in every form of beauty. Sunrise, sunset, rainbows, cardinals, butterflies, dragonflies, the ocean, and most importantly through him…his baby Nyla girl. May God continue to wrap his arms around you and your family through this difficult time and lean on him when the world gets heavy and he will be there. I love you B and I will miss you more than imaginable, but I know one day I will see you again. Thank you for being the bestfriend I always needed and keeping us girls straight! Scott, you are loved just as much and have so many here for you. Even as things start to quiet down, we will all still be here on those days you need someone most. My deepest condolences to you all. ♥️
