Celebrating the life of
Ronald Richard "Ronny" Brown, Sr.
September 25, 1935 - March 17, 2022
Ronald Richard Brown, Sr., age 86, of Savannah, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on March 17. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene Dunn Brown; his son, Richard Brown, Jr.; and granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Brown.
Ronny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, all of whom he loved dearly. He also loved the Lord with all his heart. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. E.N. Brown of Statesboro. Ronny received a B.S. degree from what is now Georgia Southern University in chemistry, biology, and physics. He retired from Rohm and Haas Chemicals. Ronny worked as a technical manager for Architectural Coatings in Charlotte, NC and Springhouse, PA. He was also the past president of the Southern Society for Coatings Technology. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery, with Rev. Jay Thompson and Dr. Tommy Ferrell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church on Tybee Island.
My heartfelt sympathy to you both Irene and Richard. I’m so thankful that I got to see you all a few years back. I’ve often since thought of what a loving and supportive little family you are. Ronnie will certainly be missed. It was an honor to have known him. Love to you always…
