It's like losing a part of yourself. May God bring you peace and comfort as you walk this road. May your memories of Cissy fill your heart with joy at times when you have no joy. May your memories fill your heart and soul with peace knowing she's with you always. May the greatness that she was be a constant reminder of the great love you two shared. Rest in peace sweet Cissy.

- Alice Eisner, Savannah, Ga

Dear Patty and Molly - Our dear and kind Cissy has set sail on a new adventure and is now in that tropical paradise. She was always her own skipper and sailed with the best of the Savannah sailors in drifters and raging seas that most would cringe and moan about and wish to be upon tera ferma on the first leg of the race. She could set and trim a spinnaker with the best of any foredeckman and sail trimmer. She was loyal beyond human kindness when her friends were in illness and need. She was a Tybee Girl, and we will miss her friendly conversations that we shared so often with one another and among the circle of sailors of Savannah that knew her as a trusted, loyal, and kind friend. Eight bells for sailor sister Cissy - Love, Johnny and Mary Ellen Mulligan

- John Mulligan, Tybee Island, Georgia

May God wrap you in His arms for eternity.

- Julia J Williams, Savannah, Georgia

God bless y’all and God bless Cissy. I first met Cissy when we were in the cast of “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” where we both played women of ill repute, contrary to our basic home training. In addition to her acting skills, Cissy had an amazing aptitude and patience for training her dogs which I imagine carried over into her classroom when working with her students. My favorite memory is the two of us with our dogs frolicking in the waves created by a passing ship at Fort Pulaski where I learned a boxer puppy can learn to dog paddle under duress. We had such fun that day and Carmen now loves catching the waves on Daufuskie. I already miss Cissy. If there’s anything I can do please let me know.

- Mary C Felchlin, Tybee Island, GA

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours during this sad time.

I’m so sorry to hear of Cissy’s death. My memories include a young, beautiful, smiling, sweating crew member working her heart out on the foredeck. She would ride the foredeck without fear and give back what everyone was dishing out. So now she is back with Vernie who will be sure to tell her everything he feels she is doing wrong. See you later Cissy.
