Bruce Charles Powley
January 24, 1936 - February 19, 2022

Bruce Charles Powley passed away peacefully on February 19th, after a brief illness at Thrive on Skidaway island, Savannah, with his devoted son, Jeff, at his side.
Bruce was born on January 24th 1936 in Patterson, NJ. He lived most of his life in Northern NJ. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University with a BS in Accounting and Finance, 1957. He held his CPA for both NJ and NY.
He served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis, and was proud of his country and to have served and continued in the National guard. Bruce was very savvy in businessman, he worked as a senior auditor for Haskins and Sells, General partner and treasurer for Shields and Company. Bruce’s most rewarding part of his career was working for White and Case, LLP NY, an International Law Firm. Bruce was an Executive Director for over 30 years, responsible for over 2000 Lawyers, in 36 offices and 25 countries and remained Consulting after he “officially retired” for years, in Savannah GA. He was a member of the American institute of CPA, Allied member of the NYSE, Arbitrator –NYSE, Registered Principal- N.A.S.D. Arbitrator N.A.S.D.
Upon retirement to The Landings on Skidaway Island, Savannah, Bruce was very active at the Landings in Golf and various Social clubs. He was a member of St. James Catholic church, Savannah.
Bruce was Married to Judith M. for 44 years till her passing in 2003. Bruce re-married Jeanne Williams in 2005 till her passing in 2019. Bruce traveled extensively with his work, and pleasure.
Bruce is survived by his son Jeffrey Alan (JoEllen) Powley, Charlotte NC, Scott Charles (Linda) Powley, Mahwah NJ and their daughter Liana whom he was very proud of and spoke about into his last days. Jeanne’s Children whom he considered like his own daughter, Janice Lonroth and her children Lars Lonroth and Delia Lonroth, Son and son-in-law Jeff Williams and Armando Oteri.
A celebration of life will be held at the Thrive date to be determined. A celebration of life and Christian burial will be held in Maryrest Catholic Cemetery in Mahwah NJ date to be determined.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Kidney foundation or the American Cancer Society.
