Celebrating the life of
William D. Waite, Jr.
February 28, 1937 - February 14, 2022
William D. Waite, Jr (Bill) died peacefully in his sleep on February 14, 2022. He was born in Savannah on February 28, 1937. He was preceded in his death by his father, William D. Waite, and mother, Mary White Waite, as well as his siblings, Barbara, John, and Judy.
He attended Savannah High School and graduated from Georgia Military College. He worked for many years in the family business, White Hardware, before going into business for himself the remainder of his career. Bill enjoyed shrimping and crabbing in the creeks off of Bona Bella.
He is survived by his son, William D. Waite, III; daughter, Joanna Waite Richards; and two grandchildren, Allen K. Scarboro, III (20) & Charles W. Scarboro (17).
A private service will be held.
