Suzanna Edenfield Cowart Crawford died on Monday, February 7, 2022, after a short illness. She is loved dearly by family, friends, fellow church worshippers, Emmaus family, and co-workers, and we will miss her dearly.
Suzanna was born December 12, 1954, to Lowell and Louise Edenfield. She was a longtime member of Compassion Christian Church and had served many years in the Henderson Campus Children’s Ministry, and was a longtime member of a Tuesday night Bible Study group. She was also involved in the Walk to Emmaus ministry for many years.
Suzanna initially planned to become a nurse, but ended up spending her professional career in the shipping industry. She last worked as a Customs Broker specializing in imports with D J Powers in Savannah.
Suzanna loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was happiest puttering around in her garden, spending time with her boys, or going with friends to help someone in need. She had an unusually crazy laugh that no one who heard will ever forget.
Suzanna is survived by her husband, Ralph Crawford, sons Christopher Cowart and Alex Cowart, and sisters Sherry Duggar (Rex), Marlene Hill (Louis), and Patti Woods (Keith), and many other family members.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Compassion Christian Church, Henderson Campus, AMC Building. Burial will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
Our deepest condolences to all of you. Suzanna was loved deeply and will be missed greatly. So many fond memories. May the Lord be with you at difficult time.

Suzanne was a bright light that I was so lucky to have shine in my life every once in a while. I already miss that face, that smile, and that laugh. She was a force of nature, and we loved her more than she knew.

Patti, and all Suzi Q’s family, my heart is so broken for all of you. Ever since Shuman, and then Savannah High, and Compassion, plus our LNO group, nothing will be the same. Our only consolation is knowing she knew and loved our Lord! If not for that assurance, her loss would be even worse. We’re going to miss her until we’re reunited again. Sending love and prayers to all of you.

Suzanna's generous and kind nature will always come to mind when thinking of her. She was loyal, dedicated, and determined in all of her ventures. To all of her family, close friends, and her work family, I wish peace for each of you as you come to understand, heal, and learn how to accept our loss of having her by our side. Just think of how she must be celebrating now as she dances in heaven!

Suzanne was always inquisitive, always caring, always thoughtful, always cheerful and very committed to her beliefs. I can still hear her laughter which flowed easily. Life wasn’t always easy but she always had a positive outlook. May her family always remember the good times and know she lived her life on her terms. She was lost too soon.
- Carol Sorensen Denning, Verona, NJ

Suzanne or Suzanna, however you knew her, she was the same beautiful person. She is so dear to me and my whole family. We knew each other well, for 50 years, and we loved each other. She loves her family and was always praying for reunion & unity for those that were distant. She loved much and was loved much. Praying for comfort for all her friends, she has many, and her family.

We are all still a little dazed that Suzanna is no longer on this earth. How could this be? Our brains can't catch up with reality. She has a new home now...a heavenly one. That is our comfort & our hope. She will be sorely missed. There is a great big hole in our hearts and in our Ladies Night Out (LNO) group. We will miss her sweet giggles and the twinkle she would get in her eye when she was up to something. She had a big heart and a sweet spirit. We will miss her dearly. Our condolences go out to her family & all of her many friends.
- Pam Josey, Savannah, GA
I was so blessed to be a part of Jane’s Bible study for a season while we were living in Georgia. It was there that I met so many sweet and kind ladies, and Suzanna is one I will never forget. She made me feel so welcome. I was newly married at the time and far from home from my family. She along with many other ladies, would always be so kind to check in with me and see how I was. It was almost like having a group full of new moms that I got to ha e dinner with every week as we dug deeper into God’s Word. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing and am lifting up her family and friends in prayer. I’ll never forget all those Tuesday nights and the impact meeting together with all of those ladies has had on my life. Even though we mourn her loss, we can rejoice in knowing we’ll see her again one day.

I have known Suzanne for many years and over that time she bailed me out of a lot of pinches! She always had my back and best interest of my company but more importantly I developed a fondness and friendship with her. She would ask about my babies and we would laugh and cry about them growing up too fast. She was a great woman, friend and someone I will miss every time I see a DJ Powers email come across. Megan and I will be praying for Gods comfort and love for her family during this difficult time. Rest easy Suzanna.

Ralph, Alex, Christopher, Sherry, Marlene and Patti and the rest of her family, know Suzanna loved you all and spoke of all you with that love. The common thread in the thoughts people shared: Suzanna was that bright light when she walked into the room, a big smile for everyone, she loved friends and family, and most importantly the love we have for Suzanna. I will miss Suzanna, and just as I have these past few days, think of her often and with love. I have so many memories of Suzanna especially her laugh and her love to ask questions. Rest easy my dear friend.
- Kim Wardlaw, Savannah, Ga
