- Orr, Newtownards,

Sid never could bring himself to use Tootie. I guess it just didn’t seem proper. He was quite a character and we enjoyed quite a few conversations at Fannies!! He loved to “pick my brain about mathematics and of course the Education system in the US. He hated it when the “older” methods of drafting were changed to computerized systems. He thought you needed a lot more “smarts” if you did not have the computer. I agreed with him...He always liked for you to agree with him! One of my favorite memories was when he let me dress him up in a red wig for Halloween. What a hoot! We even got him to make the “bar tour” walk to Doc’s several times. He will be missed. Lots of love to Jenny,Tim,Simon and Katie Luv. May your memories of Sid be only the ones that make you smile.

- ‘’Marilyn’’ and Ali, Tybee Island, GA

Another star has been added to the heavens and now shines down upon all who love him. Syd was such a brilliant man, I am so sorry for his passing but comforted in knowing he had an incredible life! He leaves a strong legacy of his love here with us and his compassion, strength, courage and honor shine through his children. Sending special prayers for Katie, Jenny. Tim and Simon as they navigate this new chapter of life.

My condolences to the immediate family of Sydney Orr. I am a great nephew of his, my late grandfather is John Kennedy Orr, and my late mother is Valerie Orr. I grew up knowing only two members of the Orr kin immigrated to the United States, Sydney and my mother who went to Texas. My mother would talk to Syd about once per year, always in talks of my family visiting Georgia. Richard Orr, my uncle, let me know Sydney had passed. The last time I was in Northern Ireland and talked to Stevie (Orr), he told me I needed to visit Sydney, and I apologize for never getting the chance. I am deeply saddened I never got to experience and meet Sydney. I am very happy, that he was able to have a family and live a long and prosperous life in the United States. I thought I would be the first of the 10 Orr brother's descendants to work with the U.S. government on big projects and after reading more about Sydney, I am happy to be wrong about it! I would love to make a trip down to Georgia soon and meet his wonderful family and learn more about him and the other American Orrs, in his legacy. You are all in my prayers. Best, Stuart Arias
