Celebrating the life of

John William Manders

February 15, 1938 - January 17, 2022

John William Manders

John William Manders, age 83, died January 17, 2022 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.  He was born in Putnam, Connecticut, and had lived in Savannah many years.  He was retired from the Savannah News/Press after many years of service.

He is preceded in death by his son, Scott Brown; his parents, John Eugene and Martha Harper Manders; and siblings, Leroy Manders, Marty Manders, Theron Manders, Patricia Manders, and Willard Manders.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Paulsen Manders of Savannah; sons, Mark Manders of Deerfield Beach, Fl., David (Shari) Manders of Beech Island, SC, Jamie (Hope) Manders of Columbia, SC, Andy (Angela) Manders of Suwanee, GA, and Mark (Carey) Brown of Tybee Island, GA; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.  The family will receive friends before and after the service.
