Ronald Elmgren Teeple, Sr. (Ron)

Ronald "Ron" Elmgren Teeple, Sr., 83, of Savannah, Georgia died Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Savannah, Ron was a son of the late Charles Alexander Jacobson Teeple, Sr. and the late Mildred Lucile Elmgren Teeple. Ron graduated from Savannah High School and received a scholarship to play football at Furman University before receiving his degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia. After college Ron enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served six months active duty and six years in reserves. Ron began his accounting career as an accountant with Lizard, Curly CPA before starting his own public accounting business, which he successfully ran for 20 years. Ron loved the Georgia Bulldogs and taking his family to games, coaching little league football and baseball, inshore fishing in Savannah, and he was active with St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Teeple Hill, and his brother, Charles “Charlie” Alexander Jacobson Teeple, Jr.

Surviving Ron are his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley W. Teeple; five children, Mallory Abshire and her husband, Philip, of Savannah; Ronald "Bubba" Elmgren Teeple, Jr. and his wife, Mignon, of Hawley, PA; Jeff Teeple and his wife, Amanda, of Loganville, GA; Andy Teeple and his wife, Nikki, of Atlanta, GA; and Becky Batey and her husband, Nick, of Savannah. Ron is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth and Timothy Dinsdale, Pierce and Cutter Powell, Amelia and Reid Teeple, Aubry and Nolan Teeple, and Addison, Patrick and Olivia Teeple.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Charles A. Collins, Jr. officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 4849 Paulsen St Suite 103, Savannah, GA 31406 or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
