Stephen J. Johnson, 57, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Candler/St. Joseph Hospital, Savannah, GA after a short illness.

Steve was born in Savannah, Georgia, the son of Jessie Marion Johnson, Jr., and Marie Sanders Johnson, both deceased.

He was a graduate of Thompkins High School in Savannah.

Steve served honorable in the U.S. Navy from December 6, 1983, until December 5, 1987. After basic training in Orlando, FL, he was stationed at Fentress Naval Base in Virginia and then aboard the USS South Carolina.

Steve was employed for many years at the Savannah Country Club where he made many lifetime friends and acquaintances. He was most recently employed at Staybridge in Pooler, Georgia.

In addition to his life partner, Kymberly Fennell, Steve leaves behind his sister, Diane Roberg (Steve) of Bloomingdale, GA; brothers, Kenny Johnson and Michael Johnson of Savannah, GA; aunt, Wilene Sanders Hughes and uncle, Ronald Sanders, both of Pembroke, GA; and uncle, Tifton Sanders of Murfreesboro, TN. Steve was also much beloved by his two nieces, Dawn Roberg Hofmann (Bill) of Guyton, GA and Becky Roberg Gunby (Jamie) of Pembroke, GA; as well as five great nieces and nephews and many, many cousins.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.

Steve was the true definition of "Life of the Party". A humble man with many jokes to tell. There were no days missed when Steve and I would have a conversation. Staybridge Family for life.
