Tenella Brown Smith

Tenella Brown Smith, 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville, GA.

She was born in Metter, GA, daughter of the late Leon B. Brown and Essie Mae Mosley Brown.  Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Brackston Smith, Sr., grandson, Alfred Brackston Smith, III and daughter-in-law, Karen Davis Smith.

Surviving are her children, Alfred Brackston Smith, Jr. of Hawkinsville, GA; daughter, Jo Ann Smith Spofford (Carl) of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, James Craig Smith (Raina); Shannon Christina Spofford (Justin Pendergrass); great grandchildren, Carl Anthony West (Jenya), Christina Elizabeth West, Douglas Oliver Smith, Ellen Claire Smith and Hazel Rooks Smith.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ben Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Tenella B. Smith and in honor of Carl Anthony West to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 USF Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33612.
