Celebrating the life of

Allene Frances Johnston Lee

October 22, 1950 - November 14, 2021

Allene Frances Johnston Lee

Allene Frances Johnston Lee died peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 14, 2021 in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

Allene was born in Atlanta, Georgia as the firstborn child of Eugenia and Frank Johnston. She graduated from Herschel V. Jenkins High School in Savannah and attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia.

In 1978, she married Terry R. Lee of Pembroke, Georgia and they have been happily married for 43 years, raising two children and sharing their grandchildren together.

Allene retired after 46 years from Cardiovascular Consultants P.C. in 2017 where she was not only the business manager but a founding member and the “work mom” to all who knew her.  Since her retirement, she had thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband Terry and their close group of friends as well as spending every second she could with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Terry; Allene leaves behind her daughter, Tina (Glen) Thompson of Pooler; her son, Terry/Bobby (Courtney) Lee, Jr. of Savannah; grandchildren Tyler & Gracie Batey of Pooler, Hudson & Charlotte Lee of Savannah and Remington & Raeleigh Thompson of Stilson.  She also leaves behind her sister Eugenia Johnston of Bluffton, SC and her brother, Frank Johnston of Savannah, GA; as well as several nephews and a niece.

To know Allene was to love her. She never met a stranger and everyone became instant family. She gave her heart and loved beyond any measure.  She touched the lives of so many people and was someone you could count on no matter what the circumstances.  She is someone you could never forget and someone who will not be forgotten by many.

Allene will be honored on Saturday, November 20, 2021 with a visitation at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home from 10-12 pm and a graveside service and burial at 2pm at Greenwich Cemetery at Bonaventure.

GUEST BOOK

Being I’ve known Allene for 56 years, we met the first day of high school. We were like two lost pups and have been together every since. We have been through marriage, birthing children, good times and some difficult times. This woman was amazing and I am proud too say she was my bestest friend. She leaves behind a wonderful family who loves her so very much. She will be truly missed. I miss my friend.

I worked with Allene at Memorial many years ago and we became close friends. Tina was born on November 15th and I waited in Allene's room while she was being born. I never forgot her birthdate or age as my daughter was born the following April 25th. The last time I saw Tina was at my daughter's second birthday party when they were both toddlers. Our lives took different paths and I only saw Allene (with Bobby, age 7) when we had lunch at a McDonald's of all places (for the kids). You are right, she was someone you could never forget and to know her was to love her. FB brought us back in contact with each other and I am forever grateful for that. I am just heartbroken. Simply put, she was "the best" and I will never forget her. I will be praying for all of you for peace and acceptance in your heart. "Understanding" may never occur but I know she would want all of you to be happy and at peace in your lives. God bless you all. Pat and Billy Mack

I do not even know where to start. Our hearts are so broken. Working and knowing Allene was a privilege. I worked with Allene from 1986 to 2017. Working through the years,I learned so much from her. She was the best office manager anyone could ever have. She ran a tight ship, and for that, we all grew to be the best workers. As the years went by, she treated us girls like a family. She saw are boys grow up. I told her so many times how much I admired her and wished I was like her. I am so very thankful that she was at my retirement on July 30th this year along with all our wonderful doctors. Harry and I had some really good times with her and the family. We will never forget the wonderful memories we had. Terri, Tina and Bobby, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. May God Bless you all. Love, Harry and Lucy
