Celebrating the life of

Angela Tilley Sherrill

October 21, 1975 - November 12, 2021

Angela Tilley Sherrill

Angela Tilley Sherrill died unexpectedly at her home in Savannah, Georgia on November 12, 2021.  Angela was born on October 26, 1975, in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she graduated from The Baylor School, and then attended the University of Georgia in Athens where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. After graduation from UGA, Angela worked for the World Wildlife Fund where she organized fundraising events, including the major event Wild Weekend in Atlanta. A highlight of her time with the foundation was a trip to the Costa Rican Rainforest with famous zoologist, Jim Fowler, and his family. After her employment with the foundation, Angela worked for several pharmaceutical companies including Bayer, Triad Isotopes, and most recently, Boehringer-Ingelheim. Growing up, Angela was a gifted athlete starting in softball, soccer, swimming and tennis, and the Baylor soccer and tennis teams for which she played won Tennessee State Championships. In spite of her sports accomplishments, Angela’s true love was doing anything outdoors, including boating. fishing, crabbing or simply enjoying the marshes around Savannah. Angela’s greatest traits were her pleasant personality, soft-heartedness, and love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Wyatt and Tilley Sherrill; her parents Tim and Liz Tilley of Chattanooga; and her sister Laura (Bill) Mattocks, nieces Meg, Lexie and Libby Mattocks, and her fiancée, Shelby Myrick IV, all of Savannah.

Visitation will be 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, 429 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.

My heart is truly broken to hear that Angela has been taken from us far to soon. Angela was an Angel on earth and I loved working with her at Triad Isotopes. I loved being around Angela anytime I had a chance. My heart also goes out to her Parents as she always told me how wonderful y'all were to her and her Children. I know Wyatt and Tilley have so many great memories of their Mom and I have all of you in my thoughts and prayers as you live through this very difficult time. I lost my Dad to an accident two weeks before I turned 11 years old, so this really hits home for me as I worry about Wyatt and Tilley. I know your family will take very good care of them. Angela called me a few months ago to let me know she was engaged to Shelby. We probably talked for an hour that day and I felt so good for Angela and how her life was going. I have never met Shelby, but I know Angela would always tell me more details that I ever should know about what was going on in her life and all I can say is that she was very happy. Angela would always say what was on her mind and I loved that about her. I know Angela loved her children and her parents very much. Wyatt and Tilley were her number one priority in life. Angela was smart, strong and a very determined young lady. I have a Son and two Daughters, so my belief is that every child should out live their parents and I am so sorry your family has to go through this unbelievable loss of such a precious Daughter. Angela was always positive and just a ray of sunshine anytime I was around her. Many people at Triad Isotopes (now Jubilant) are devastated to hear about Angela as she was beloved by everyone she worked with. My thoughts and prayers are with your all. Wayne Putnal

My deepest sympathies to the family. Angela was one of the kindest people I have ever met. It was a privilege to work with her, and an honor to know her. Her presence exuded warmth, love and gratitude in a way that was so inviting and comforting. She is a shining example of what all human beings should aspire to be and she will always have a special place in my heart. Praying that the memories of her life lift us all during this time of sorrow and that we strive to live our lives with the compassion and love that she showed us.
