Mary Ann Sharp Hess died peacefully on Friday November 5, 2021.

Mary Ann was born to Ralph Ellis Sharp and Henrietta Robison Sharp in Bethlehem, PA on December 9, 1931. She attended Moravian Seminary for Girls and earned a B.S. in Zoology from Mount Holyoke College. Mary Ann married Richard M. (Dick) Hess 67 years ago on October 16, 1954 and they have been residents of Savannah Georgia for over thirty years. They moved to Savannah from Waccabuc, NY and have been active members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Mary Ann was involved in many community organizations, including Chairperson of St. Peter’s Altar Guild and P.E.O. Sisterhood.

In addition to her husband, Dick, Mary Ann is survived by her children, Richard M. Hess, Jr. (Alison), Ralph Robison Hess (Elizabeth) and Susan Hess Upton (Matthew) and her four grandchildren, Matt, Annie, Meriel and Mac.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 20, 2021 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Altar Guild of St. Peter’s in memory of Mary Ann.
