Anne Devonshire “Devon” Sullivan Gaudry

Devon passed away on November 3, 2021 after a brief illness.  Her family, and loved ones were with her when she went home to her Lord and Savior.  She was a proud native Savannahian born at Candler Hospital, Feb 7, 1954.   She grew up on corner of 52nd and Abercorn, in the same house her grandparents called home.  She graduated from St. Vincent Academy and attended Marymount University.

Devon would always tell her family, “In order to have a friend, you must be a friend”, and she showed this through her career in furniture sales, including Dixie furniture, and well as Devonshire Cleaning Service for over 20 years. Devon also was known to volunteer with many organizations in her life including Sacred Heart Church, the Junior League, and Froebel Circle.  Every person Devon ever meet she treated like a member of the family.  There was not a single person who did not enjoy her warm smile when they interacted with her, and if you were having a hard day she was the first to offer a hug and a cold cocola.

Her family and friends will always look back and will be thankful for the life lessons she bestowed on them, as well as the love and compassion she had for friend and foe.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Buddy and Anne Sullivan, as well as her son Lawrence E. Gaudry Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Lauren Anne Gaudry of Hilton Head, Allison (Reid) Gaudry Carlisle of Columbia, South Carolina. As well as her siblings Martin (Martha) Sullivan Michael (Monica) Sullivan of Savannah, and Bernadette (Henry) Watkins of Naples, Florida.  Her grandchildren are Emily and Grace Gandy, Jenci and Kinsley Gaudry, and Sunny, Sullivan, and Lila Carlisle.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.

Remembrances can be made In her honor to the Fresh Air Home of Tybee, PO Box 14144, Savannah Georgia.
