Archie Carl Roberson
Passed away on November 21, 2019
Archie Carl Roberson, 61, of Savannah, Georgia transitioned peacefully Thursday night, November 21, 2019, at his home with family by his side under Compassionate Care Hospice.
Born in St. Augustine, FL, he was the son of the late Aure Lee Hille. He moved to Savannah in the late 70’s. Archie worked at Piggly Wiggly and Food Lion for a total of 25 years. He had an awesome sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and put a smile on others face. Some of his favorite musicians, to name a few are, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Bobby Womack, Miles Davis and David Bowie. He loved to play pool, fish and share insight on life from his experiences. He always used to say, “I have more years behind me, then in front of me.”
Archie is survived by his life partner of 35 years, Michelle; a son, Andre Roberson; a daughter, Akia Stewart; two grandchildren, Andrea and Andre Roberson Jr. ; a sister, Cathy Hull (Johnny), a niece, Laketta Cross (Mike); and a loving uncle, Andrew Moorer (Margie) and a host of special friends, relatives and co-workers.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
I just learned today of Archie's passing. My sincere condolences go to his family. I worked with him at Foodlion many years ago and he was such a blessing to know. He was always so caring to everyone! When he retired from Foodlion, I had no idea he had been sick. After coming to the store a few times and not seeing him, I asked. I was told then that he had been sick and went on disability. He has been truly missed in this store! I pray the Lord brings comfort to his family. He was a wonderful friend to everyone who knew him.
