Arthur L. "Artie" King, III

Arthur “Artie” L. King, III, 64, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 24, 2021. Artie was born on February 22, 1957, in Savannah, Georgia. He graduated from Nativity of Our Lord School and Benedictine Military School, class of 1975. Following high school, he worked for CSX railroad for fifteen years. He later went on to work many years in the restaurant industry. He most enjoyed his time as a co-owner of Gallagher’s Restaurant in Savannah and Casserole King’s in Atlanta. His favorite times of year were Opening Day for the Braves and a big Georgia Bulldogs win in the fall. He was deeply proud of his two children and three grandchildren. He loved them with all his heart. 

Artie is survived by his mother, Annette Desposito King, his children Christine Bill (Scott) and Arthur King (Kira), his grandchildren Hudson and Mary Harriet Bill and Piper King, his brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews in the King and Gaudry families.

He is preceded in death by his father, Art King and his beloved mother-in-law Harriet Gaudry.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 4:30 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be sent to the Suzanne Fogarty Scholarship Fund.

Well Mr Author our last phone call the night you past you said to me "I will talk to you tomorrow", I called and called and even texted you only to learn that You my Friend had gained your wings and that God called you home. I did not know Artie well.I met artie while working with his sister Terrie.Working on a St Patrick's day. We were all tired but Artie made me laugh so much I forgot how tired I was. I am glad I got to meet Artie.
