Passed away on September 21, 2021

Donna Heinz Hanlon

Donna Lee Heinz Hanlon age 82 died peacefully on 2l September 202I, surrounded by her husband and two sons at The Marshes on Skidaway Island.

She was born on October 1,1938 in Holbrook, Long Island, NY, to Edward Bronson Heinz and Estelle Frances Egan.  

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Daniel E. Hanlon III, a son Daniel E. Hanlon IV and his wife Denise of W. Townsend, MA, a son James Matthew Hanlon and his wife Denise of Sharon MA, five grandchildren, Alexandra Alyce Hanlon, Nathan James Hanlon, Victoria Marie Hanlon, Daniel E. Hanlon V and Megan MacAulay Hanlon.

Donna received BA in French from Hofstra University and an MA in History from U Mass Boston. She resided in Bay Shore, NY, Charlottesville, VA, Hingham, MA, Redondo Beach, CA, and Savannah, GA.

Her passion for history and interest US Presidents led her to become an historic interpreter atthe James Monroe home in Charlottesville, VA, an historic interpreter at the Adams historic site in Quincy, MA, a docent at the MA State House, and the archivist of the John Kennedy national security files in Boston, MA. 

Donna was an accomplished artist specializing in watercolor, a cub scout leader, and Church volunteer. She was a member of the Lachlan Mclntosh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Savannah, GA

Since retiring to the Landings in 1999, travel, golf and painting provided her great pleasure.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 3 W. Ridge Road, Savannah, GA 31411.  Inurnment will be in the church memorial garden, followed by a reception in the church parish hall.
