Jack Bragg (gather.app)

Jack Thomas Bragg, 17, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Memorial University Medical Center with his mother, father, and his aunt Brandi by his side.  Jack attended Monticello School in New York and played baseball from little league T-Ball thru his teenage years for Mamakating.  He lived on Tybee Island for the past 3 years, where he enjoyed working for Salt Island Restaurant.

Jack is survived by his mother, Dawn Marie Vega Bragg of Tybee Island, his father, Gregory Christopher Bragg of Tybee Island, his maternal grandparents Jo-Angela Lester (Ricky Lester) of Macon, GA and Rafael Vega of Ft. Valley, GA, his paternal grandparents, Juanita Bragg and Benton “Bill” Bragg of Statesboro, GA.  He is also survived by his cousins, Luigi Lockhart of Savannah, Donald and Aidan Elliott of Middletown, NY, who were like a brother’s to him, and also several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his work family at Salt Island Restaurant.

Jack had a head for baseball and absolutely loved the game. He was an excellent pitcher, first baseman and could swing a bat and hit a ball like no other. He made many lifelong and loyal friends.  He loved animals especially his dog Daisy.

Jack was never afraid to say "I love you" and told his friends and family members often.

When Jack was old enough to obtain his identification card he spoke about being an organ donor. So, in his last days he became just that. Jack will live on and be a hero to the lives he saves.

Jack’s life was truly a blessing to all who knew him.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Jack’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 4605 Hwy 80 East, Whitemarsh Island.
