Frances Bacon Bouy

Frances Bacon Bouy, the beloved wife of the late Troy Albert Bouy, went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours on September 10, 2021.  Frances was 90 years old.

Frances was born on September 29th, 1930 to Pearl Caison and Willie Allen Bacon in Glennville, Georgia. She graduated from Glennville High School in 1948 and attended Draughon Business College in Savannah, Georgia. After college she worked at Citizens and Southern National Banks. She was a member of The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. She married the love of her life, Troy, on August 14, 1954.  They had a wonder 65 years together.

Frances was a true southern lady. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, especially boating trips up and down the southeast coast. She loved spending time her family and throwing annual 4th of July celebrations in Bluffton, S.C. on the May River. Frances had fond memories of hosting evenings with Johnny Mercer and Emma Kelly at their home in Windsor Forrest. She enjoyed the game of golf whether she was playing at La Vida Country Club or being a spectator at the Heritage Golf Classic.  Thanks to her husband’s Cajun roots she learned to perfect an amazing gumbo and oysters Bienville.  She will be remembered as a gracious host and her legacy will be carried on for generations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Bouy, her parents Pearl and Willie Bacon, her brothers Hollis Bacon (Betty), Bennie Bacon (Betty), and her brothers-in-law R.L. Mitchell and Calvin Brewton. She is survived by: her sons, Mark (Paige) and Brett (Milly); her sisters Johnie Mitchell and Willene Brewton; and her seven grandchildren; Anne Vater (David), Claire Bouy, Matthew Bouy (Victoria), Willa Volpe (Michael), Mayme Bouy, Hope Falls and Savannah Falls of Savannah, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank those who cared for her during the past few years: Judy, Janie, Katina, Deborah, Lisa, and Marilyn.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, with a rosary service at 6:30 pm, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

My deepest sympathy to the Bouy family in the loss of Frances. She and Troy were always such kind and genuine people. My deceased parents, Vivian and John, enjoyed their company and the Cajun connection. May your family find comfort in knowing, so many of Savannah's best have once again been reunited.
