Celebrating the life of

Jennifer Anne Dubois Adams

June 04, 1975 - September 03, 2021

Jennifer Anne Dubois Adams

Jennifer Anne Dubois Adams, 46, died Friday, September 3, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

The native and lifelong resident of Savannah was born on June 4, 1975 and was a 1994 graduate of Johnson High School. In 2001, Jennifer graduated from the Police Academy and began her law enforcement career with Chatham County Police Department. She later worked for Chatham County Sherriff’s Department. Jennifer loved law enforcement work; however, numerous back surgeries forced her to change careers. Her new career as a bartender at Tybee Times and later at Doc’s Bar would introduce her to the new friends that would become her new extended family. Jennifer was her happiest while working at Doc’s with Steve and Bethany Kellum and co-workers. Jennifer married Ricky Adams on November 17, 2017 at the nursing home where Ricky’s mother was a resident. Jennifer wanted to be certain that her new mother-in-law, Mary Frances Adams, would be able to attend. Jennifer genuinely loved people and all who knew here were forever touched by her generosity and selfless love.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her grandparents, Graham Bailey, Jr. and Mary Mixon Bailey; and mother, Anne Bailey Dubois Oliver.

In addition to her husband Ricky, Jennifer leaves behind two daughters, Lauren Dubois and Olivia Delatorre; son-in-law, Ethan Melvin; stepchildren, Nick, Ryan, Kyle and Christina Adams; brother, Ashley Dubois and his fiancée, Ashley Chandler; nephew, Carson Dubois; niece, Rosalee Dubois, and her first grandson (to be here soon), Charles Melvin.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 on the Pier on Tybee Island. A reception will follow at Jennifer’s beloved Doc’s Bar.

Tybee was our second home. Jennifer was always doing something to bring everyone together. Her love for people in general made her personality. Her smile would brighten up any room. When Jennifer was present the fun began. You will always be Tybee Girl. Once a Tybee always a Tybee. It's people like you that make the Island. Rest in Peace. Please God help the family and dear friends know that Jennifer has moved into her new place and her special new island next to God. He called her home because he needed her to work with him. Even though you will miss her know she will live on. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life! AMEN!) Our condolences!

I pray for hearts’ comfort and the peace of sweet memories for Jennifer’s family and dear friends. Lauren and Olivia, I’m so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. I will remember her as someone always willing to help a friend and as a fierce, proud mama bear. Hugs, sweet young ladies… Ricky, we crossed paths only once, but it was obvious that Jennifer had found happiness (aside from her girls) with you. Cherish that knowledge…

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jennifer's passing. She worked with Skip on the County Police, and then with me at the Sheriff's Office. She was small in stature but didn't put up with any BS. Bad buys may have thought she was a pushover, however Jennifer stepped up to the plate when necessary. We lost touch when she left law enforcement. It is with heavy hearts that we wish her family peace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead. God bless.
