Celebrating the life of
Patrick G. Sheehan
Passed away on September 04, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick Gerard Sheehan announce that he passed away early in the morning of Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the age of 62.
“Pat” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Margaret Moore and Gerard Martin Sheehan. He moved to Savannah with his family in 1973. He attended Blessed Sacrament School, where he was voted best looking and most athletic. Pat went on to graduate from Benedictine Military School in 1977. He then attended Armstrong State College. He was employed by the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1475. Pat, a devoted Roman Catholic, was a communicant of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
Pat married the love of his life, the former Therese Koncul, in 1984. Together they raised three beautiful children: Laura Elizabeth who was the apple of his eye; Martin Francis who he loved dearly; and, Andrew Patrick who made him so proud.
In addition to his wife Therese, his daughter Laura and his son Andrew, Pat is survived by his loving brothers, James Joseph Sheehan and Martin Francis Sheehan (Kristine), his many brothers and sisters-in-law in the extended Koncul family, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Margaret Sheehan, and his beloved son, Martin Francis Sheehan.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family kindly asks that you honor Pat by extending an unexpected act of kindness or compassion to another soul. All are invited to attend a graveside service at Greenwich Cemetery on Tuesday, September 7th at 10:30 a.m.
Therese, I know of no words that will bring you comfort and ease your suffering. I will keep you and your son and daughter in my prayers, and pray that our Lord of Comfort will wrap His arms around you and your family. May Pat and Martin Rest In Peace with our Lord.
