Celebrating the life of

Joan Elizabeth Gooch Wilkinson

November 22, 1943 - August 29, 2021

Joan Elizabeth Gooch Wilkinson

Joan Elizabeth Gooch Wilkinson peacefully took her journey to the spirit in the sky on August, 29, 2021, in her home with loving family by her side.

Joan was born in Savannah, GA on November 22, 1943.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby L Wilkinson; sons, Terrance Kevin Fisher and Michael Lucian Fisher; parents Anna Weimar Gooch and Lucian Gooch; sister, Sharon Browning Keith; niece, Karen Browning Morris; and many others.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Kimberley Dawn Rutledge (Patrick Chapman); son, Jeffery Allen Fisher; brother, Jon Barry Gooch (Kathy Whittington); step daughter, Wanda Wilkinson Stafford; longtime friends Jean Gooch and Sandra Browning; many loving grandkids, nieces, nephews; and Pepperoni, her feline baby.

The family moved to Port Royal, SC in 1953, where she graduated from Beaufort High School in 1964.  Joan retired early in the late 1980’s. In life she enjoyed camping, sunbathing at the beach, boating, fishing, gardening and spending time with her grandkids. She was a devoted mother to her family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will occur at a later date.

So sorry for the loss of your loved one. Joan was a sweet lady with a sassy spirit and she was a good friend to me. I will miss visiting with her, our lunch outings and text messages. Lord knows she had a green thumb and I always ask for her advice on plants. She will be missed.

Miss you Aunt Joan. I never saw you once you didn’t have a smile. You even laughed when I came back to your house covered in mud from head to toe after falling in a ditch behind your house with no change of clothes. Still you washed them for me and let me get cleaned up before dad and Jean came back to pick me up. Here’s us at Fripp 2013

Praying for comfort and peace for the family. Your beloved is now in the loving arms of our Father God. May we all Praise the LORD & give Thanks to God, for He is Good... all the time! Be Encouraged, and focus our Minds on the Joys of the Lord today, as we find Strength in knowing that GOD is in Control of Everything, nothing can happen without His knowledge and His Will. (Ps. 46:10) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be Exalted among the heathen, I will be Exalted in the Earth.) Love the Lord thy God, Walk in His ways, & Keep His Holy Commandments, as you Live according to His Holy Word in JESUS
