Larry Glenn Lightle, 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family as our Heavenly Father called him home.

Larry was born on February 23, 1940, in Newark, Ohio to the late Glenn and Emlen Lightle. After high school, Larry was employed by Roper Lawn Products in Newark until 1975, when he and his family were transferred to Savannah. After several years in Savannah, Larry accepted a position with Gulfstream Aerospace where he retired after 15 years of service. Larry was an achiever and often won service awards during his career. He was recognized for his bowling and golfing skills. Larry received many compliments on his meticulous landscaping, aka, his outdoor green carpet. However, out of all his accomplishments, Larry was known most for his love of family; he was an adoring husband and a loving and supportive father. Larry was a devout communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded by a grandson, Jamie Anthony Lightle.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Helen; three sons, Chris (Carol), Brad, and Brian (Laura); three daughters, Keli (Steve), Suzanne (Ken), and Beth (Larry); 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Reverend Gabe Cummings celebrating. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. followed by visitation until 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution be made in Larry’s memory to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 11500 Middleground Road, Savannah, GA 31419.
