Lindsey Joanna Hart

Lindsey Joanna Hart, on August 14, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends went to her heavenly Father.  Lindsey, a native of Savannah was 35 years of age and despite physical challenges lead a truly joyous life.  Her bright optimistic attitude had a positive effect on all who knew her or came in contact with her.  She loved school and was a graduate of Groves High School, class of 2008.  She actively participated in the school chorus and learned her lifetime enthusiasm for painting.  She was twice selected to display her paintings in the Telfair Museum.  Lindsey was active in water therapy and a team member of Abilities Unlimited.  She was an inspiration for the creation of a summer camp for special needs children. She never met a stranger and everyone was considered a friend.

Lindsey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Lillie Hicks and George and Violet Hart.

Lindsey is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Jon and Donna Jo Hart, her brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Katie Hart, her nephew, Gage Hart, and her niece, Emery Hart, all of Savannah.  Also surviving are her aunts and uncles, Debbie and Mike Harper, Doug and Beverly Hicks, David and Paula Hart, many cousins, and her many friends at Lindsey’s Place.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.

A Celebration of her beautiful life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Compassion Christian Church, East Campus, 9150 Old Montgomery Road.

Lindsey was a fighter to the very end of her life, and one of her favorite sayings was “Make Every Day Count”.

The family requests no flowers, but for donations be made to Abilities Unlimited, or Lindsey’s Place.

The family wish to give thanks to Dr. Frank Rossiter, Dr. James Dewberry, but most especially Dr. Robert Cossio for being the primary physician of care for 33 years.  They would also like to thank all of her many nurses and caregivers, especially Sylvia Couey and Marla Danis, for all the loving care and friendship they gave to Lindsey and her family.

Ms. Donna and Dr. Cossio it has been a long time since I’ve seen Lindsey, but I remember working with Doc and anytime she would come in the office he lit up!! It didn’t matter how busy we were or what was going on, he stopped and attended to her, that kiss on the forehead and the song he would sing to her made her smile and brighten everyone’s day; even hers, no matter how she was feeling. Ms Donna I know she was your heart and it always showed! My prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time, God has gained another angel; a very beautiful, strong, sweet, loving angel!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Honestly it's everyone's loss. Lindsay's spirit was infectious, and what she brought to this world will remain as her earthly body expires. She is no doubt enjoying the freedoms of eternal life and her spirit equaled now by her abilities in heaven. God bless you and the family.

We didn’t know Lindsey in a personal way, but were touched and inspired by things we’ve heard about her and how she loved and lived her life. Apparently she lived each moment with joy and good spirits. I am sure her bright light will live on.
