Margaret Marie Smith Chamberlain

Margaret Marie passed away unexpectedly Tuesday night at 8:52pm, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine VonWaldner Smith, her father William “Billy” Smith, and her brother Michael Smith. Margaret Marie attended St. Vincent’s Academy (Class of ‘82) where she was Senior Class President and a member of the National Honor Society. Margaret Marie was proud of being a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy. She attended and graduated from Armstrong State College (Class of ‘86).

Margaret Marie is survived by her son, William Thomas Chamberlain Jr. (Tommy); daughter-in-law, Katherine Chamberlain; and granddaughter, Lainey Kate Chamberlain. She is also survived by her husband, William Thomas Chamberlain Sr.; her brother, William “Bubba” Smith and his wife Paula Smith; her sister, Kelly Smith Herold, and her children Christopher Herold (Kayla Miller) and Haley Herold.

Margaret Marie was a ray of sunshine who carried happiness into every aspect of her life and spread it to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Margaret Marie was a vastly strong and resilient woman who cared deeply for her Catholic faith and deeper still for her family. Margaret Marie loved her game shows, candy, and Georgia Bulldogs. Margaret Marie was an amazing and loving woman with unwavering kindness. She will be greatly missed by her family.

The family will hold an open visitation at Blessed Sacrament Church, Saturday August 14 at 9am.

The funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, Saturday August 14 at 10am and will be performed by Father Joe Smith. There will be no funeral procession to the cemetery, but the committal will begin at 11:30am and is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Stroke Association in memory of Margaret Marie Chamberlain.
