Katherine Juanita "Nita" Moorman Devlin died peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in Peachtree Corners, GA. She follows her husband of 57 years Lt. Col. (Ret.) Donald L Devlin Sr., two sisters, Mildred Moorman and Carolyn Fitch, and a brother Charles Moorman.

Nita was born on March 20, 1924 to Elerrena and Eric Moorman in Savannah, Georgia. She lived in Savannah until 2014 when she moved to the Atlanta area to be closer to her children. Nita graduated from Commercial High School. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church and her Nursery Certificate is proudly displayed in the church archives. She taught in the Junior Dept. of Sunday School and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Nita retired after 28 years from the State of Georgia Dept. of Human Resources, Division of Rehabilitation. After retirement, she and Don traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. They were active in local military organizations and she served as President of the Savannah Military Officers Association Auxiliary. For her dedicated work she was presented with a plaque from The Military Order of the World Wars for Outstanding Service. These organizations and friends were very dear to her.

A longtime lover of flowers, she spent much time in her garden. She served as President of the Chatham Garden Club and Secretary of the Marshlands Garden Club. Nita also served and enjoyed 7 years as volunteer at Candler Hospital.

Nita is survived by her loving children, son LTC. (Ret.) Donald L. Devlin Jr. (Vicki) and daughter Carol D. Green (Kenneth) both of Peachtree Corners, GA. Additional family are grandsons, Eric M. Devlin of Decatur, GA:  Keith Devlin of Melbourne, FL: Robert M. Stedeford of Cumming, GA. Five great grandchildren, Joe and Ben Devlin, Emma and Hanna Stedeford, Liam Devlin and a nephew.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances may be sent to Immanuel Baptist Church, 7375 Hodgson Dr., Savannah, GA 31406 or to the Scholarship Fund of Savannah Area Military Officers Assn., P.O. Box 15894, Savannah, GA 31416.
