Charles W. (Bill) Morris

Charles W. “Bill” Morris, 81, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born July 23, 1939 to Norwood Morris and Lucille Moore Morris.  He attended Commercial High School, and graduated from Savannah High School in 1958.  He was a member of the 165th Georgia Air National Guard for 24 years attaining the rank of Senior Master Seargent.  He worked for the Savannah Shipyard, Savannah Gas Company, and also Kerr-McGee for 36 years before retiring.  Bill was a member of the Zerubbabel Masonic Lodge and the Tybee Lite Shrine Club.  He enjoyed playing in his country band, “Pure Country”.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Morris, and stepson, Chris Anderson.

Bill is survived by wife, Sandra Morris, twin daughters, Karen Smith (Dennis), and Sharon Varn (Allen), stepson, Eric Anderson, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and his dog pals, Hank and Thumbelina.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 at Grace Church of the Islands, 6920 Concord Road, Savannah, GA 31410.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
