She was known lovingly as "Miss Wanda" to all the kids and the parents. When St. Michael's closed, she started working for Eastern National at Fort Pulaski National Monument. Wanda loved meeting new people from all over our great country and telling them about our beautiful Monument and Tybee Island. Wanda loved her country and gave back. My heart is broken at the loss of Miss Wanda. I first met her through St. Michael's School on Tybee and we became friends immediately. She was the kindest, sweetest person who loved the children at the school and would do anything to help them and their parents. I was fortunate to see Wanda several days before she left us and give her a hug. Fly high my friend, you will be missed.

There is so much to say about Wanda’s generous heart, keen sense of humor, and Americanism. But as friends and family, you already this. May our Heavenly Father bless us with peace in the difficult days ahead.

What a beautiful soul Ms. Wanda had. Ms. Wanda was one of a kind, always smiling, trying to help people when she could and truly loved kids. Tybee will not be the same without her. No matter how she was feeling (I could tell she was in pain) she would hug my neck and tell me to keep smiling. She will surely be missed by all . Rest now Ms. Wanda, we will try to make you proud.
