Charles (Charley) Peters 71 of Winthrop, MA, passed away June 4, 2021.  He was born in West Virginia, January 29, 1950, son of the late Beatrice and Maurice Peters, raised in Savannah GA. Loving husband of Susan (Davis) Peters of Winthrop. Father of Rachel Peters and her partner Angel Duke of Savannah GA, brother of the late Nancy Tirado, Mary Beth Graham and her husband Gene Graham and Nora Holloway Uncle to many nieces and nephews all of Savannah GA, dear brother-in-law of Marjorie Davis and her husband Joseph Nazoa of San Francisco CA.

Charley was a police officer in Savannah GA, while working as a police officer he earned his Bachelor of Laws at John Marshall Law School Atlanta, GA. He was a commissioned officer in the US Army, a 1st Lieutenant in the Armor Division. He worked at FedEx as one of the first couriers in Savannah and as both an Operations Manager in San Antonio Texas and Savannah GA and a Senior Manager in Lubbock TX. He met his wife through work and moved to New England.  After leaving FedEx he held other management positions and has been retired for the past 15 years. He was an avid football fan especially loved the University of Georgia Bulldogs as well as the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. He was an animal lover and will be reunited with his beloved dog Lulu. He was a member of the Winthrop Elks lodge 1078.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgaon Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA.  

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah, GA.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer in Winthrop. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
