When I first met Mike at an Parade Adjutant meeting 30 + years ago. He had that grin that you knew immediately something was up. Mike was true Irish gentleman, but always something going on in that head. Mike was a true Shenanigan. I could give you 100 examples, but wearing Shirt and Tie and Bermuda short to George and Sherrie's Wedding but the best part was talking the rest of us into doing it also. One Parade my job was to keep Mike under control per Norma Jean. I was a complete Failure and Norman Jean let me know it. You can't control Mike, Mike was Mike and God Bless the family and all the memories they have to honor such a good life. I said earlier, Mike & Johnnie is us there in heaven planning a parade and all those decease Grand Marshal are telling them how to do it right. God Bless the Family and Thousands of friends that feel this loss. Ron KMIA (The One Legged Leprechaun) & Joanne Webber

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I met Mike in 1983 when my youngest daughter was born. He had just started working at CUNA Mutual and we both had the honor of serving Georgia credit unions for over 30 years. My two daughters considered him their crazy uncle and he would try to visit with them when he was working in Valdosta and they were in college. I always considered Mike a really good friend and as others have already said he would do anything for you. He had such a good spirit and will be missed by the Gilbert family.

We reconnected last year during monthly dinners at Bowtie bar-b-que along with several members of the Class of 73 led by attorney, Mark Shawe, and our former quarterback, Mike Finocchiaro.
