Celebrating the life of

Teghann Claire Murray Johansen

Passed away on June 07, 2021

Teghann Claire Murray Johansen

Teghann Claire Murray Johansen, 36, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side.  She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, daughter of Thomas E. Murray, III and Christyne Poole Murray.

Teghann moved to Savannah with her family when her father transferred with his employment.  She was an honors student at the Savannah College of Art and Design and Armstrong State University and was employed by Vinnie Van Go-Go’s. She loved her family, art, music, animals and had volunteered with the Humane Society.

With a wicked sense of humor and a loving, giving soul, Teghann embraced life and nurtured all those around her.  To her, family was not defined by blood.  She will be remembered as a baby rocking (including broken hearted friends), kitchen dancing, summertime traveling, Saturday Night Supper Clubbing, music loving badass warrior who loved her family and furry friends more than anything.

Surviving is her husband of seven years, Scott R. Johansen; daughter Penelope Johansen; parents, Thomas E. Murray, III and Christyne Murray; two brothers, Matthew Murray (Shilo) and Thomas Murray, IV (Casey); sister, Marlene Murray; maternal grandmother, Arlene Mottola and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215, Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.
