Michael Steven Johnson

Michael (or Mike, as he was best known) was born November 10, 1956 in Knoxville, TN to Joseph P. and Mary Alice Stout Johnson. Mike grew up in Knoxville, graduating from Central High School and the University of Tennessee.

While in college, Mike began working in retail. It would become his life’s work. He was a great salesperson and effective retail manager. His work would take him to positions in Knoxville, Atlanta, and Savannah.

Mike loved movies, the Oscars, theatre, and music. He could answer most any trivia question posed in those categories. He also had a keen interest in politics, lively conversation, and fine food. He was able to travel to Europe and many places in the U.S.

In his years after his retirement, he assisted in the care of his parents in Nashville, TN. He passed away in Savannah, GA on May 22, 2021.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Alice Johnson. He is survived by his sister, Patricia, and husband, Steve Flemming, nephews Ross Flemming (Mary Catherine), Brian  Flemming (Mary Foster), and nieces and nephew Madison, Riley, Jane, and Luke Flemming. He also leaves some devoted friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.  Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
