Celebrating the life of

Audilee Boyd Taylor

December 02, 1931 - May 21, 2021

Audilee Boyd Taylor

Audilee Boyd Taylor, 89, died peacefully Friday, May 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Herbert Lee Taylor and her son, Jon Taylor. She is survived by her son, Jed (Lilann), daughters Julia and Jessica (Paul) and nine grandchildren: Hunter (Ashley), Callie, Julia, Morgan, Liz, Mac, Jake, Madison and Zayne.

Audilee grew up in Sylvania, the only girl in a family of four boys. Her youngest brother died in World War II, making times with the others even more precious. They were, the family is sure, waiting in Heaven with mischievous smiles. Herbert and Audilee started their married life in Savannah, surrounded by friends at Immanuel Baptist Church. Whether it was volunteering in the church library or instructing the GA’s, Audilee was deeply involved in supporting their ministry. Over the years of marriage, the couple had four children and ran a successful construction company, H.L. Taylor Construction. Audilee enjoyed playing an A-level tennis game and bible studies at another church home, Wilmington Island Baptist. She was always available with a glass of sweet tea and advice for her many visitors. At the age of forty, she made the decision to pursue her writing dream. After pitching many publishing houses, Audilee made the innovative choice to form her own company, Castlemarsh Publications, to pick the types of books she thought the market needed. Her first children’s book, “Where Did My Feather Pillow Come From?” was the debut for the new business and stayed on the market through its 20 year anniversary. Over her fulfilling career, she was published in “Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul” and in countless newspaper articles with stories and poetry.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 24 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia. The funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey.
